Orca Maritime, Inc. is an underwater mapping/GIS and port security company established by two retired U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts with extensive experience in military EOD and salvage diving, underwater mine countermeasures, autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) and remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operations. The Port of San Diego is a special government agency that manages San Diego Bay and its surrounding waterfront land. The Port is governed by a seven-member Board of Port Commissioners representing the five cities surrounding San Diego Bay. The Board establishes policies under which the Port’s staff, supervised by the President/CEO, conducts daily operations. The Port’s revenues for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2009, were about $135 million. This income includes rent from tenants and fees from users of the marine terminals and parking facilities as well as grants, income from investments and legal settlements.
